“Icons in Menus Everywhere — Send Help,” n.d. https://blog.jim-nielsen.com/2025/icons-in-menus/

Rant about icons in menus. I agree with the author. The idea that every item in the menu should have one causes them to be not readable at all.
What is really important whenever you make menu is to understand which menu options are actually mostly used. Such options should have key shortcuts and icons. Also, groups of settings should have an icon.
Nowadays, maybe due to AI enhancement, where you can generate any icon you want, it’s easier to shit it here and there. It’s not a good idea and it will confuse your users.

“Being a SysAdmin Is Hard,” n.d. https://about.tree.ht/blog/treehut-outages-december-2025

Small blog post about issues when you host software for your own company. I really like how kind and truthful the authors was.I had similar issues when I was hosting servers for my friends without static IP address. It can’t be a real pain in the ass especially that usually what you need is a simple "restart" tunneling button which is not available when tunnel is down XD
