Again I don’t write or read a lot. From big news of last 2 weeks we can see shift in Open Source development which now favours LLMs for bigger chunks of work.
I’m not sure where it all leads to. I spoke with many developers who are burned out due to recent AI advancements. Most of them don’t mind using LLMs. They are just pissed of that AI was trained on their work which is basically a theft.
Other than that big math problems are being solved but it’s all shadowed by huge scandals. A lot of mathematicians claim that solutions from AI come right after they upload solution to SoTA AI models. It all makes you think how much money and resources are spent on this. Clearly big AI companies run in loops to solve millennium math problems and as soon as context is feed with something which leads to solution they publish it, and claim as it’s their own.
It’s all very sad and reminds me of Microsoft strategy: Embrace, extend and extinguish.
World is moving so fast right now. It’s hard to keep track of what is actually going on. Regulations which are crucial to make sure we don’t end up under constant surveillance are years behind. Venture capitalists reek with money from investors who pray daily to reduce human labor costs.
Fun times are coming. But I’m still there trying to learn as much as I can.
